Gor Khatri museum goes after man demolishing historic Peshawar building

The City Museum of Gor Khatri has asked the police to register an FIR against a man who is demolishing a historic building.

Ahmed Faraz, who is in charge of the museum, has written to the SHO of Kotwali police station asking for a case to be registered against a man identified as Ali Raza Khan.

In the application, the museum said that Mr Khan applied for permission to work on a house in Mohallah Maghoola Bazaar-e-Kala House.

It is a historic building with grand intricate wooden work still intact. The building has two stories.

The director of Archaeology & Museums gave an NoC but Mr Khan stared demolishing the historical building, violating the rules of the Antiquity Act of 2016.
