The pilot of a Thai Airways flight narrowly averted disaster while landing at the Islamabad airport on Wednesday night.

Flight TG-349 was coming to Islamabad from Bangkok when it hit a bird during its descent, said airport officials.

The pilot managed to safely land the plane but the windscreen cracked. The plane was unable to take off for its return journey to Bangkok and will be taking off Thursday afternoon after repairing the windscreen.
