Messaging application WhatsApp has introduced a picture-in-picture mode for its Android version, WABetaInfo reported.

It has been made available for its users after the 2.18.234 Android beta update. The picture-in-picture mode was already available for the Apple version of the messaging application.

WhatsApp users will be able to play YouTube, Facebook and Instagram right within the application in picture-in-picture mode.

When the play icon is tapped, the application shows the video in picture-in-picture mode, so the user can continue to scroll up and down in the chat while the video is being played.

The picture-in-picture will disappear when the user switches to another chat. However, this does not happen on the iOS version.
